Arkansas Troopers Show No Mercy In High-Speed Motorcycle PIT Chase

  • The motorcyclist signaled he was going to pull over, but the cop wasn’t willing to wait for him.
  • Just before being arrested, the biker was spotted speeding down the wrong side of the road.

The folks over at the Arkansas State Police absolutely love a good ‘ole PIT maneuver, and as we’ve seen in the past, they aren’t afraid to swipe a motorcycle from the rear to bring a chase to the end. That’s exactly what they did in late February after troopers spotted a biker on a Honda CBR1000 doing well over the speed limit, swiftly hitting and arresting him.

Dashcam footage shows the final moments of the chase, as well as the arrest. According to a report from Sgt. Stephen Briggs, he was alerted to a sports bike approaching him “from the rear at a high rate of speed.” In response, he pulled over and waited for the bike to appear. He activated the rear radar, which showed the rider hitting 52 mph in a 45 mph zone.

However, it appears he caught on to the officer’s presence, quickly performing a U-turn and accelerating away. Sgt. Briggs initiated a chase shortly after. In the footage shared on YouTube, the biker can be seen blasting through a set of traffic lights before crossing onto the wrong side of the road while driving around a sweeping left-hand bend.

The video shows the motorcyclist hitting the brakes and the officer catching up to him. On several occasions, he waves his hand, indicating that he may be about to pull over. However, he didn’t, and after waiting for a touch over 10 seconds for him to stop, Sgt. Briggs performed a picture-perfect PIT maneuver. The biker, identified as Jeremy Jackson, was thrown to the ground and handcuffed.

When it comes to traffic stops and police chases, the Arkansas State Police don’t mess around. If they see an opportunity to pounce, they’ll take it. While this can result in some interesting footage, PIT maneuvers performed by police in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Georgia have resulted in 40 fatalities between 2017 and 2024, a local investigation recently revealed.
